Memorialized Emotions

Interpreting art show themes has been a rewarding and educational experience. Themed shows have forced me to narrow my focus and delve into my thoughts and feelings about a specific topic or emotion. This type of show fits well into the limited number of hours I have available for “my” art and their deadlines and requirements keep me on track and motivated.

Two themed shows produced by Oliver and James, a hair salon in downtown Des Moines’ “West End Art District”, led to the beginning of this series, Memorialized Emotions, and my first commission.
