“I am a Modern Day Renaissance Woman.” – vvh
Valerie Van Horne’s art is an interpretation of her experiences, studies, connections, passions, family, friends, lovers, jobs and travels. It is the result of all the things her senses have absorbed, the emotions they have stirred, the transference of the unknown and unseen into the seen.

Community Service
Twelve years ago, after the loss of a grueling career in the hospitality industry, Valerie found herself sitting on a couch, contemplating her life. Her career was her second love, her art was her first and on that day she returned to her Artist’s Journey. Step by step, connection by connection she returned to her first love through community service.
Valerie’s community service is not conventional, it’s a part of her art. Her art is not, and never will be, characterized by mediums. Mediums really don’t matter to her, she starts with a thought and uses whatever she wants to bring it to life, such are her projects, River City Art and Music and Riverview Artist Salon.
